Three spreads for the German magazine GEOlino Extra. This editions theme was ‘Tierische Helfer’, translated: ‘Animals that help’.

My illustrations accompanied an article about pigeons, telling three stories in different times in history, where pigeons played an important role in the lives of humans.

The first true story is set in the first world war, where a messenger pigeon called Cher Ami, helped save the lives of 194 entrapped soldiers.

The second illustration depicts the coronation of pharaoh Ramsesses the Great. A messenger dove is sent to spread the news.

The last one is a scene set in rural India, where the Odisha Police used their Pigeon Service for means of communication.
